Spa Secrets!
Spas are one of the joys of life. Not the creepy kinds with tin foil windows (not covering those), but the ones with life-changing reflexology, water rituals, scrubs like you’ve never imagined, and wraps that have you smiling for days. Those!
A quick story. When Covid hit (I mean really, do we keep needing to put 19?), it was my birthday and my husband and I were isolated at what proclaims itself to be one of the top world spas. Then, half way through Covid, we went back to that spa in June. (It was our anniversary and the Solstice, and well, we got a good deal.) It was something we just felt we needed to do.
So much insight in that Venn Diagram of the Covid timeline. Psychologically, people were suffering, and I could feel the tension at the spa. While the hygienic practices were strict, and temperature taking became a regular thing, the value of having conversations and connecting with others was more important than I ever. It completely flipped my state of mind from one of powerlessness to feeling empowered in ways I can’t even yet articulate. Social-distancing conversations with others we met reinforced this as we unraveled this landscape together under new rules, so hard for the hugger in me that hugged EVERYBODY I met pre-March 2020.
I wanted to bring some balance back with some sunshine into humans who are not meant to be isolated under the pandemic’s cease and desist. My vision for this happier world poked at me to start now, just do this thing I have wanted to do for so long. Having just finished a final draft of a book out this fall called Shine, prescriptive in nature, I have spent the past four months writing out tips for rituals and ideas of how I find balance and practice light rituals. I wanted to give ideas of how to care for yourself as you would someone you deeply love, and find your true center, your passion. I’ve finally made a space to look at these types of experiences up close and clear the mystery for beginners, as well as give excellent intel for the veterans. You are my people.
Spa is more than just someone rubbing some lavender oil on you. It can be a pathway to opening into your joy, relaxation, happiness, and next evolution of your Soul.
I got you, Sunshine.
